About Civil Service Examination

Indian Civil Services is one of the oldest and best civil services in the world because this examination was started in 1861. The Indian Civil Services has foundations in the British Raj where the service was intended to serve the British interests. From then it has become the steel frame of the Indian administration and has proceeded even after independence.

The exam is arguably the most difficult in the entire world because it not only tests the knowledge of the applicant in different spheres but also the personality aspects which are very difficult to quantify, to be successful is this arduous task, one most remember the axioms the tough gets going when the going gets tough.

Throughout the years it has undergone many changes in its structure yet the basic character has not changed i.e. recruitment on basis of the Best Talent. After independence, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Service Examination. it remains the most prestigious and sought after service in India.

Civil Services Examination is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to different Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and other services.

Civil Service is the most coated job in India. This Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for Selection for the jobs under Civil Services is done through three-pronged exam pattern Prelims Examination, Mains Examination, and Interview.

The Union Public Service Commission is the government body responsible for selecting the best candidates for Civil Service. Every year only around 1000 applicants are selected for all the 24 services combined.
