Indian National Mathematical Olympiad is generally held on first Sunday of February of the relevant year. For this exam, only those students are able who are selected in RMO (Regional Mathematical Olympiad) and those who have received an INMO certificate of merit. This exam is 4 hours written test. On the basis of the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad, the awardee is top 30-35 students in merit from all over the country are chosen for INMO awardees. In addition to INMO awardees, the following 45-50 students who are in class X or lower and have done well in INMO however, have not qualified as Indian National Mathematic Olympiad awardee are awarded INMO certificate of merit. These students are eligible to appear for next year INMO directly without qualifying through RMO this year.
