The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is an academic organisation of national importance as recognised by a 1959 act of the parliament of India.
Primary activities of this Institution are research and training of Statistical development of theoretical Statistics and its applications in different natural and social sciences. Originally affiliated with the University of Calcutta, through an act of Indian parliament, Indian Statistical Institute act, 1959 the ISI was declared an institute of national importance in 1959.
Indian Statistical Institute functions under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) of the Government of India.
ISI has its headquarters in Baranagar, a suburb of Kolkata, West Bengal. This institution has four subsidiary centres focused on academics at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, and Tezpur, and a branch at Giridih.

The Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata has released the admission notification for all Indian Statistical Institute. Students who want to take admission in the B. Stat (Hons.), B. Math (Hons.), M. Stat., M. Math, MS in Quantitative Economics (QE), MS in Quality Management Sciences (QMS), MS in Library and Information Science (LIS), M. Tech in Computer Sciences (CS), M Tech in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research (QROR), PG Diplomas and Research Fellowships, they can check the official notification of ISI.
Eligible contenders may apply for the Indian Statistical Institute Registration before the last date.Candidates can make the online payment before the last date.
How to Apply for ISI Application Form
Candidates go through these steps to fill the ISI Entrance Exam Application Form:
Step-1: Register Online
Visit the ISI official website. Click on ISI Admission Portal. Click on “New User Registration”. Then fill the registration details and click on “Register”. Applicant username and password will be sent to the registered email ID.
Step-2: Fill the Application Form
Log in with your User ID and password and Click on “Application Form”. Fill all details of the personal, course, address, centre preference and other required details.
Step-3: Upload Photograph and Signature
Click on the browse button to choose the images and Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature one by one then click on “Save” button. The filled application form will appear on the screen. Check all entries and click on “Next” button.
Step-4: Fill Other Details
Candidates are required to fill the qualification details. Read the declaration, tick on the box and click on “Save” button. Now check your application form and click on the submit button.
Step-5: Make Fee Payment
Firstly, you select the mode of payment. Now pay the application fee using debit/credit card or SBI bank challan.
Step-6: Print Application Form
After finishing all steps of the application form, click on the “Print Application Form” button.After than take a printout of your final application form.Take a printout of application form and keep it safe for further use.
Documents/Details Required for ISI Entrance Exam Application Form:
- Valid Email ID and Contact Number.
- Candidate’s personal, qualification and address details.
- Scanned image of passport size photo. The image should be in jpg/jpeg/BMP/gif/png/ formats and size should not exceed 50kb.
- Scanned image of signature in jpg/jpeg/BMP/gif/png/ formats. The maximum image size should be 30kb.
- Payment details.

ISI Entrance Exam 2022 Pattern
The entrance exam has been divided into 2 papers i.e. paper I and paper II, out of which the first part or section is mandatory for all applicants. Paper-I will include objective type (MC) questions and paper-II will contain short answer type questions. Each question will contain 4 marks. The exam pattern will be different for every one of the courses.
ISI Entrance Exam 2022 Syllabus
ISI syllabus is different for various courses. In this exam questions will be asked from analytical reasoning and other related subjects/topic and fields with topics of undergraduate (UG) or below (10+2) level. The question will come from different topics which are significant to that course which candidate has applied.
ISI Entrance Exam 2022 Counselling
ISI Counseling will be held after completing of all examination successfully and it will be Online. Candidates, who shall qualify in the ISI entrance exam, they have to attend the counselling with specified document for verification.
Admission in ISI 2022
Selection of the eligible candidates shall be made by Merit list, prepared by the Indian Statistical Institute. All applicants have compulsory participate into Written Test & Interview which shall organise by the ISI.
