ince 2003, the National Institute of Open Schooling has been researching the feasibility and operationalization of an On-Demand Examination (ODE) at the secondary level.  The main notion of a NIOS On Demand Examination is that a NIOS student can stroll into the examination facility whenever he or she feels ready. The ODES was revived at the secondary level by NIOS in 2005. In October 2007, NIOS began delivering On-Demand Examinations at the senior secondary level, following the success of ODE at the secondary level.
